Not sure but I'd bet it takes more than 320 degrees to get the pipes cherry red. Possible exhaust gasket leak at the head could cause the pipe temp to skyrocket.

ORIGINAL: Daehawc

A little background...&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; When installing my AN Big Sucker one night about a month ago I noticed that after a short ride at night the head pipes would glow cherry red.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; This was with a stock 2008 Street Bob with AN Big Sucker, V&amp\\;\\\\\\;H slip on straight shots, and Nightrider XiED's.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Common advice was that it was way lean but some also said it was normal (including Harley).
Did the glow happen before installing your stage 1? If you still have the stock parts try going back then start one piece at a time to narrow down the culprit.

When it's really dark, I can see mine glowing, just at the bends. Anyone who has blueing on their pipes, had their pipes glowing at some point, they just didn't notice it.

i never noticed it before the a/c but I did go completely back to stock to figure it out and never got it to go away.&nbsp\\; how do i check for an exhaust gasket leak?&nbsp\\; Is that just a simple replacement of the gasket?

pipes glowing at idle is not that uncommon. most fuel management system base maps do not add fuel at 0% throttle.&nbsp\\; if your management system can add fuel at 0%, the glow may go away.
