Azgunner - no timing adjustment. I always run 91-93. Good point on punching it - normally only does it when I am really winding it out in 4th or 5th and it's hot.

Good troubleshooting hints all, appreciate it. Wondering if detonation is because of extreme heat and if stock main jet, a lean condition. NEVER detonates at any speed if the temps are cooler.

Since the only time its happening is when its very hot out, I would tend to think its running a little lean.&nbsp\\; I would try richening it up a bit and see how it reacts.&nbsp\\; As was pointed out, carb adjustments are a happy medium.

I'm not sure what size your slow jet is.......just to give you an idea of what I'm running...

Main 195&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Slow 48&nbsp\\; Screaming Eagle AC with V&amp\\;H Short Shots.
&nbsp\\;
This is for the Chicago area, temps typically 80's&nbsp\\; although sometimes the low 90's

Respects,
Ed

Slow jet is a 46 and I raised the needle up .050 with 2 #4 washers. Your numbers are a good guide. Thanks again.
