Anybody try the 10" windvest vs the 14" ? Windvest said their could be less buffeting with the 10". Does that sound accurate?

A guy I ride with has a vest.&nbsp\\; He took off his HD shield for the vest.&nbsp\\; I can't give you anything more than that as I haven't rode with either.&nbsp\\; But he loves the vest.

 

do they really make a 10?
anything lower than a 14 seems pretty useless to me.
14 works well, no buffeting at all

 

I got the 14" on my SB now. A-lot of buffeting, more than I care for. Called Coolwinds and he said that the 10" would be less buffeting and IMO looks better (Tinted one).&nbsp\\;Windvest sent me some pics of the 10". I'll post em tomorrow.

Yeah, but do you guys think it's true and/or possible that their would actually be less buffeting with the 10" than the 14" ? I don't know anything about aero-wind dynamics or whatever you call it but it seems to me that their would me more buffeting with the 10" however Coolwimdshields.com said the opposite. The 10" in tint would look better though on my SB.

 

The 10 looks cool.

I have the 14.&nbsp\\; I also have 2 seats, a bare bones and a 2-up. The 2-up puts me an inch higher in the saddle.

The air flow over the top hits me on the forehead when I'm on the 2-up, not nearly as bad with the flat seat.

The 10 would surely be worse?

 

Try the big HD detacheable in diff postions.&nbsp\\; Much better the lower you go.&nbsp\\; I'm thinking about going with the 10 myself for looks and much better in high wind

 

The 10" would be worse! The 14 still buffets you from sides and bottom. I have one on my 08 and personaly wouldn't buy another Wind Vest! Find the best spot possible by canting the windshield forward, the wind is supposed to go over the top of your helmet, starting about the upper forehead. WV helps, but only with the in your face wind! It's not all that great at highway speeds!!!!
