4) I wanna be able to spill a gallon of overfill gas, set it on fire, and beat the flames out with a mace without damaging the finish (OK, a little optimistic there, but you get the picture).

 

5) What am I likely to totally overlook about the project? I'm not gonna shoot it, but wanna know about prep and process beforehand.

If it's just temporary, I wouldn't worry about how perfect it matches or how bulletproof it is.&nbsp\\; Take the new temp tank and get someone to shoot it with a best match cheap paint and ride with it until your original tank is done.

 

ppg colors shoot great and are much cheaper than house of color. HD colors are very expensive from the stealer 100+ a pint.&nbsp\\;

2007:&nbsp\\; I figure if I'm gonna go to the trouble and expense to paint the spare and maybe have some airbrush work added, I may as well have it done right. It may end up nicer than the pin-ups I plan to have tucked into the flames of my bagdeless original tank. Would be nice to have two nice tanks to roll with, as suits my mood.
