I've been running Apes (16 to 18 inch) on all my bikes since early 90's and never had trouble with police

I found out last weekend in Illinois. Leaving a bar called "Famous Freddys" on the Chain of Lakes a trooper pulled me over and said he could write me for an&nbsp\\;unsafe vehicle because my bars are over my shoulders (18in apes /with 2 in risers ). I pleaded ignorance and after running my i.d. he let me go. I didnt want to talk long because I had "2" beers..............
