Default '06 Wide Tire kit

Purchased the wide tire kit awhile back when not really known what the deal was. Besides the tire, you get a revised bracket that allows a bit more clearance for the tire. If you are planning to buy any bags or side plates, you will end up NOT using these brackets, so no need to buy the kit! IF you are just going with the wide tire, then yes this works. Since I added detachable side plates, I purchased different side mounting plate brackets.
May not be the place, but if anyone wants mine, say $25 delivered, then please PM me.
Hope this helps.

Well folks been lurking here for some time now and decided it was time to register seeing how I have a question on the wide tire kit.You say if you have bags you dont need the kit?Guess I am trying to understand what the bags would or would not have to do with the kit?I do have the leatherpro bags on my bike as far as the turn signals have also been relocated.Same fender struts on yet. That is good info if the kit is not needed I hope as I see it runs approximately 255 dollors with tire.Where that puts about 100 or 125 alone for somthing thats not needed. Also have roghly 3700 miles on rear tire so its bout half done for as of now.

So are you saying that for those bikes with the detachable sideplates and relocated indicators etc. it's just a case of buying the wider tyre, not the kit ?

Also, have you noticed any impact on the handling of the bike ? Theoretically it should be a bit harder to pull into corners, but maybe with only a 2cm difference it's not noticeable.

i'm gonna get the wide tire kit when i need a tire. not gonna spend the money for an extra 2mm untill this tire is done. i seen a bob with the 180 tire and it didn't seem that noticable. unless i get new rims than i'll get an 18 x 5.5 rear rim with a 180 tire. i have to see what funds allow for when the time has arrived
