I had the stock eyebrow headlight and transformed it to a billet lamp assembly.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;Using the existing modified light assembly I got the attached results.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
What I did was remove the indicator light assembly, then the eyebrow/light assembly.&nbsp\\;I then used a small band saw to cut off the brow along the molding lines on the back of it.&nbsp\\;I then took a half round file to make the curves for the risers.&nbsp\\;Did a little finish filing, polishing, and reinstalled the bracket backwards with the same hardware.&nbsp\\;I then reinstalled the indicator light assm. (in reverse of course)&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;
I then installed the new billet light assembly I ordered from the HD catalog.&nbsp\\;This required drilling a 3/8" hole in the lower triple tree.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;I used a front motor mount bolt thru to the lamp mounting bracket.&nbsp\\;I spliced the wires and hid the connections under the gauge cluster.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

Thats it, judge the results for yourself.

That is an awsome job done there I may try and tackle that myself, I to have an earlier FXDL and one of my
issues with the bike was always the light brow I wish I had thought of that when I did my sportster.
I will tackle that. light brows are fairly common to find in the catalogs. J&amp\\;P etc

I did a similar thing with my 1990 Fxr. The brow seemed so Hondaish and it always bothered me.. I was very happy with the transformation!! yours look very nice, Good job!!!

lol just kiddin good job... thing is you could have bought the chrome piece that comes stock on the xl custom....

just would have had to relocate your idiot lights or drill the plate from the xl to accept them....

Actually I changed the&nbsp\\;levers to chrome.&nbsp\\; I also bought the chrome XL bracket, didnt like it, returned it for the chrome levers.&nbsp\\; Sharp eyez!&nbsp\\; Did you catch the chrome HD medallion covering the lower front, panel wires?&nbsp\\;

yup caught the medallion...sweet... all in all your front looks better than a chrome piece from the xl. I actually only added that idea in there so that others who may want to do the same thing know there is something out there they can buy on the cheap to replace the brow instead of being overwhelmed thinking about tackling all the work you did.
