black shocks? powder coated or what?

RE: black shocks? powder coated or what?
All shocks that are not chrome (for car, truck or bike) are powder coated. \\; I don't know of any manufacturer still using liquid paint, but there may be one out there. \\; However, the shock factorys use an infrared oven to cure the powder so as not to overheat the pressurized shock and cause the seals to fail.

Removing the spring from a shock takes all of about 30 seconds. \\; Mount the shock in a press, ensuring it can't come loose, compress the shock enough to remove the c-clip and slowly let the shock extend. \\; That's all there is to it.
 \\;
BTW-There is a special press made for motorcycle shocks but setting up your hydraulic press, taking the proper safety precautions, doesn't take much. \\; As with anything mechanical, if ya don't feel comfortable with doing it yourself take it to the pro's.
