I don't don't care how bad his day was, he could have killed someone. And if he's a regular, he WILL drink and drive again. Trust me I know the type, more than I care to admit.

Funny when you have an extra $300 you always seem to be looking at $500 parts.

 

I am a bit more likely to burn someone down for a mistake like that, but that might be because I wrecked last year when a cage blew off a stop sign and I went down: road rash, 6K in damage to the bike and a shattered lower right leg that layed me up for 4 months.

I have been given plenty of second (and third, fourth and fifth) chances in my life, so I may have been as understanding as you were, but maybe not.

Glad you are back to building the cafe, and finishing up the shop, this didn't happen out in my SW burbs neck of the woods, did it?

damn Lucky. I had a similar situation earlier today going to work. The lady started to move. we made Eye contact, as you did. I did however honk the horn and try to really catch her attention, I slowed down, and she acknowledged that I was coming by, signaling ok. Just some tricks that can save a life. Hope you heal and get well. Bike can be fixed. Your body parts are not so replaceable. Ride Safe everyone.

Kudos to you, man, for being alert and watching out. TG you are OK. Folks are right, even when they see you drivers have no idea of your size or speed, they can't judge bikes at all. Or as David Hough says, "Don't let 'em hit you!"
