And by the way, the rigid plates look vastly better than the detachable ones. \\;They compliment the look of the bike imho.

We all have our likes and opinions and you are entitled to yours and I won't argue with it. \\; I went in to buy a detachable sissy bar set and the parts guy talked me into the rigid using this same opinion. \\; I found I just really didn't like my bike as much with the sissy bar installed so I wanted to be able to remove it when I don't need it.
 \\;
Anyway, back to the subject at hand, I was told I would need to lift my bike to do the install as well but I got it done with it sitting on the ground. \\; It was tight but it worked. \\; Lifting it will make it much easier to access the bolts though. \\; It's also a good opportunity to make sure all of your under fender wiring is secured and out of the way of the tire. \\; In the first couple of months of owning my bike, a wire got loose and got rubbed in two by the tire.
