I'm looking to replace the fuel tank on my 1987 FXR (previous owner wrecked and dented it).&nbsp\\; Does anyone know what other year FXR fuel tanks will fit?&nbsp\\; I seem to find a lot of 1993 tanks.&nbsp\\; I know the FXR frame is wider under the tank, so most other tanks won't fit.

There are a few aftermarket tanks that'll work.Drag Specialties used to make a Fat Bob tank for FXR's.Im not really sure if they still put it out or not.V-Twin manufacturing has one also.&nbsp\\;

 

I found those tanks (one piece fatbob's) and I actually prefer those to the OEM tanks.&nbsp\\; But some of the the OEM tanks I see on E-bay make it tempting.&nbsp\\; But using the catalog's description, it looks like 1982 - 1994 will work....

I think any tank off of an FXR model will work.They wont take a tank from another non FXR bike though
