Default Fixing the paint (Pewter denim) Anyone use MoCo to do it?

My pewter denim tank has sustained a few f'ups in the paint. Want to get it fixed at some point. Has anyone used the MoCo to have a tin(s) repainted? Wondering if they had good luck or should I go local? Is Pewter denim a PITA for local guys to do? Is it paint then clear? If so thinking of maybe going with a tank decal under the clear...

my painter said they put a flattening agent in the clear coat and don't use the Moco unless you are willing to wait 3 months. lost the last 2 months of riding season last year cuz of them.

I don't know paint, but I do remember reading in some lit from the dealer that the MocCo instructs them to ensure that the customer understands that there is no clear coat over then denim and it will "burnish" with wear, giving it a personal appearance.

the pewter has a metallic&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&n bsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; i still think its just base&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; i do paint for a living and what you see as denim is what i see before i clear it

Buy the spray paint from HD&nbsp\\;and do it yourself. If you don't like it send the parts out. Only costs a few cans of paint.

Default Pewter Denim paint

I also painted autos for a living but I guess I am a little off on the lingo. What does "metallic&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;& n bsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\" mean? Or what does it stand for? Maybe I am just not thinking clearly. I also agree that it looks like base with no clear but am unsure if I want to paint my fender with just base due to the lack of UV protection. Does anyone know for sure if it cleared with flattener in the clear or just basecoat? Thanks, Jeremy

even if it has a clear on it, it can still burnish.
my paint has a semigloss clear on it and there are 2 shiny spots where my knees hit the fuel tank.
i kinda like it
would think that any reputable body shop should be able to refinish it to factory appearance (or better)
