Default detachable windshield headlight problem

Ihave a 2008 superglide custom with a riders essential kit detachable windshield.The problem im having is that the windshield slot for the headlight is about 2 or 3 inches in front of the headlight and at night it causes glare from the light so bad that high beam is unusable and almost blinding.This is a very poor factory setup.Can only think of two things to do,either cut the slot bigger or buy a mount or other headlight that sets the headlight ahead .Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it.

Sounds screwed up.
&nbsp\\;
Are&nbsp\\;you &nbsp\\;sure the windshield&nbsp\\; mounts are all the way into the bolts on the clamps?

I installed the Visor Style Headlamp Trim Ring. Worked for me, cheaper and easier than a new headlight.

That's what my buddy did on his Super Glide when he encountered the same problem.&nbsp\\; Trim ring did the trick.

if you loosen the bottom bolts you can adjst the angle of your windshield a little bit,and make sure you slide the shield all the way up! Incidentally i think&nbsp\\;nobody should&nbsp\\; have&nbsp\\; the slightest problem for the&nbsp\\;bucks kind of bucks we shell out&nbsp\\;for&nbsp\\;our&nbsp\\;equippment!

I have the same problem. I'm going to try the visor route...if that doesn't work I'll go for a longer headlight. I hope the visor works, because the headlights aren't cheap.
