There's really not much of a disadvantage of a full face helmet any more regarding side vision, and they are the only helmets that are Snell approved.&nbsp\\; They have a tremendous amount of peripheral vision now.&nbsp\\; If you don't believe it, go try on a newer Shoei.&nbsp\\; You'll be shocked.
&nbsp\\;
BTW, the top of the line helmets also have fantastic ventilation, replaceable pads to adjust the fit, and are extremely light.&nbsp\\; Heck, they even have aerodynamic affects.&nbsp\\; I just recently replaced my 5 year old helmet with a Shoei X-Eleven, and I was surprised how much better they are.

Get a windshield. Glasses and half helmet here no problems. Did wear a full face before I got the shield though. Restricts your peripheral vision though.

You bought a Harley.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Nothing else is important (unless you wear chaps and fingerless gloves).&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;

I wear a full-face (actually a modular) when it is cool or when&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;I ride for very long without the windshield. But it gets so hot here that I don't wear it that often during the summer.

I have a half helmet now. Was riding home from work last night and a thunderstorm came up real quick... was wishing I had a full face helmet (on order) and a rain suit (also on order).

BTW, I also wear prescription sunglasses with the removable foam trim (that basically makes them goggles). They work well with either helmet- about $200 through H-D.
