I just noticed a piece of metal in my back tire and was wondering if I should just take it out and plug it, or should i put a patch on the inside of the tire. i am running mag rims that are stock on the 98 superglide. The tire has good tread left on it. I did not take the piece of metal out yet just want to see the advice i get first. I hope that the metal did not go all the way in but cannot be sure untill i dig for it Thanks

 

I had the same thing happen to me, but the tire was worn out... so I changed the tire.

if it wasn't worn out, i would have put a plug in from the outside....&nbsp\\;

 

Need to get it off to see if there is any damage inside - if not I'd plug it - if there is I'd change it!

 

I will never plug or patch a motorcycle tire ever. Not worth the risk or thinking about it.
