Just looking for some opinions and the bike is an fxd so it has the speedo and tack attached to the handle bar clamp.

the best hight would be where you are most comfortable. i think 12 or 14 depending on your hight. much more that that and your arms are probably well over your shoulders and your hands mey go numb on long rides. i like my 10" apes. i'm 5'6" and my arms are staight out. i'm comfortable, any thing higher and i wouldn't be....but thats just my .02

dl03 what bars are they on your bike? and did yas take the speedo and tach issue into consideration?

 

Apes for me - 12" is about right, I dont like them too high as I dont feel that I have the same control but that's just my opinion.

 

intruder.i got them off of ebay from lone wolf customs or something like that. they are 29" wide and have an 8" rise with 1-1/4" dia. i paid like 80.00 for them.

Oh Crap, I thought you meant "Drink" bars. Nevermind..............Hey can somebody please re size their pictures so that they comply with the rules here.

 

I like the old style look of apes. I understand the drag bar thing, but my back doesn't anymore. I like the feel of the apes because I can sit up straighter and my back and shoulders don't bother me like they used to with the stock bars that my bike came with. I would just pick the bars that feel the best to you and enjoy the ride from then on.
