well first of all you could get better performance simply by putting a baffle in your big radius exhaust . unless you run wide open throttle all the time your simply throwing away horsepower . I have a buddy with a 110 s.e. dyna that has a chrome thunder header pipe and it sounds good and runs good but the finish on the chrome is a bit lacking. I know thats probably not what you want to hear but its the truth. I saw a black super trapp 2-1 on a cross bones and I gotta say it looked pretty damn good plus it is tuneable so maybe you could find a happy medium between power and sound.

Just a note about wrapping your pipes- It helps build heat which is good for performance but bad for the pipes. I think it looks great but have heard it will shorten the life span of your pipes. Also the Bassanni heat shields are a joke. I say all this but I love their pipes and have the road rage pipes on my bike. I love the sound although they are Loud and are shorter than the Thunderheader so it is by your ear all the time. I would buy them again though...

I like the Thunder header for sound, and everyone says it is a great performing pipe. The Bassani probably performs nearly as well though, and honestly, I have never thought that the quality and finish on the ThunderHeaderappeared to bewhat it should. At least on those I've seen. I noticed that a black Thunderheader I saw on a bagger recently actually looked purple. Has anyone else noticed this?
