Default What exactly is a SERT??? UPDATE

I bought a HD # 32107-1h from ebay. What I got was a CD and a Cable. Is that right? Is there supposed to be a module???? Two sets of cables? I started a dispute with paypal and the seller says that's all you get, that there is no module. Anybody buy one? What was with it?

You need the module and it has to be NEW. The cables and software are useless without it.

The module is shown in this picture. It is the thing you don't have:

That's what I told the guy I bought it from. He got pissed and said that's all there is to it. He also said he spent $459.95 for it.

I would continue your efforts toward a refund via paypal. You are missing the main part of the kit. The seller is full-o-****.

Clarification: That part number he sold you may only include the software and cables, BUT it is not a 'SERT' without the module. If it was advertised as a SERT, you did not get a SERT.

The seller now tells me that this is the newer SERT (32107-01h) that does not require a module. Is that possible? He said any pictures I saw with a module were older versions?????

dude, this guy is yankin' ya or he's a moron. i just had mine dyno-tuned a couple months ago, at a harley dealer and granted, they did use a newer version of the software than i have BUT, they also used my interface module.

DISCLAIMER: if something has changed in the way this thing works in the last couple months, i am unaware of it. there are PLENTY of people on this forum with SERTS who can attest to its usage. hopefully some will chime in...

Hey man, I am not aware of any SERT that doesnt have the module.
How could it work without a module ? the Module "Marries" the ECM. So you can only use it with one bike.
Below is a pic of the latest SERT Moduleas of 2 months ago.
Part # 32109-08

dude, that looks nothing like the one i have. i bought mine a year ago and it is just a plain black box with no bells/lights/whistles, but they still used it to tune my bike. Some things have apparently changed, but seems you still need the module...

I agree. When I first saw it I thought WTF is this?
I have an older one too and it is just a straight forward Module.
Looks like Jeffbcn got hosed over.[:@]

jeff,

the newer one, 32107-01L, just has the module and no cd or cables. However, I think that these are being discontinued and there will be a new SERT coming out soon.

I think that the older version that you bought, 32107-01h, did come with cables and the CD once upon a time, however, it seems like he has kept the module, sold you the fixings and is trying to get away with it.

Give em hell! Good luck.
