Do You Own a Touring Bike Too?

RE: Do You Own a Touring Bike Too?
I love my WG and have no plans to ditch it. I do, however, plan to buy a Road Glide soon and dress out the back end like an Ultra for maximum passenger comfort. I considered a Wing, but while they are uuber comfy, there is ZERO thrill on those things and I need a thrill. I'm not into the leather and tassles old school look. The Road Glide maintains the modern look I appreciate. Now I just have to quit spending money on the WG so I can pay for the RG.

A few QD "clicks" and my Dyna is my touring bike, and a damn good one, too.....
Tried a couple of RK's and they didn't do it for me on the roads we prefer to ride.

I have a 06' FLHRCI. I find I drive the Road King more because I drive I-95 at night to work and it's just more practical. It's my main ride on weekends because you can't beat it for 2 up comfort. You can take the windshield off and the tour pak and it's like having a totally different bike. My FXDL is my solo bike when I go out with my buds and occasionally to the gym. I hate to say this but (since you asked) I actually prefer the Road King a little more right now. The dyna is a lighter more powerful ride and more impressive after all I've done to it. The Road King is a better balanced bike...it's like the fat chick that's light on her feet. Kinda like welterweight-v-heavyweight. I was never a fairing kinda guy but it's nice having that option when you need it but not all the time...

I think theres no need for a touring bike, i mean, for me the only touring bike that makes diferences is the electra glide ultra... if you are thinking of buying a road king just for touring and you allready have a dyna imo is a waste of money, just buy a detachable backrest and detachable windshield and detachable saddlebags like I did and you can turn your dyna into a touring bike in 3 minutes, take a look at this post where you can see some pics of my bike and you will see 2 diferents bikes in one. I hope It helps you.

I use my Low Rider for trips under 150 miles --- like the agility and acceleration of the Low Rider. The Road King handles extremely well for its size, carries a lot more gear for the longer trips, and easier on my 53 year old rear end for all day riding.
I put at least 10k miles on each and will continue to keep two bikes as long as I can put that kind of mileage on each bike.
