Default Tank lift

I want to put a tank lift on my superglide. I am concerned about the lift throwing off the accuracy of my fuel gage. If it does, what have people done to help resolve this problem?

Also, what kind did you go with and where did you get it? Thanks!

Jackyl's 3"
I never trusted the gauge even without the tank lift. I just continue to use my odometer.

HD Fuel Gauges are a far cry from accurate....calculate your mileage and go with it.

The lift will screw up your fuel gage. You'll never see a full tank. You just learn to deal with it because it looks so much better.

I have Jackyl's 2" lift on my '08 SGC. Gage is off about 1 1/4 gal., you have more than indicated.Low fuel light comes on early, which is fine by me, I fill up when it does and i'll never run short.

I have the 2" tank lift on my 2007 FXDC Super Glide Custom. The low fuel light comes on when there are still two gallons of gas left in the tank. Your best bet is to run your tank down as far as you dare to see how far you can go on a tank of gas. On my 2007 Super Glide, with V&H FuelPak, V&H Straightshot slipons and SE air cleaner, I get 41 mpg on highway and around 37 mpg in mixed driving. The rule of thumb is to use the odometer - not the fuel gauge.

I've got a 2" lift, if I fill up when the light comes on it takes 3 gallons. I average 40 mpg. Light comes on about 120 miles.
