clutch adjustment after 1K service??
Okay, I had the 1000 mile service done this weekend and while pulling out of the parking lot, I immediately notice that the clutch engages after I let it out almost completely. Feels totally different than when I dropped it off. Also, when I start it in gear (clutch pulled in all the way of course) it lugs fwd just a hair as she starts to turn over.
Did the dealership adjust it a little too much, or is that the way it should be?
This is my first HD so I am still learning the ropes of the big V-Twin.
Thanks-

RE: clutch adjustment after 1K service??
After much research on this site and the service manual I did my 1k service myself. I adjusted the clutch myself and it feels good. Surprisingly easy via the service manual for a 1st timer. I know understand how the cable and adjustments work and can fine tune myself.

Mine engages just about half way out. If it's engaging near the end, while pulling a hill at around 30 MPH, put it in 5th or 6th, crank it on and see if it will slip. If the engine lugs down, the clutch is likely adjusted OK, but different than before. If it slips, then its way out.

With the clutch out there should be some play on the cable at the lever. Grab the cable and pull it away from the lever. There should be a little gap. like the thickness of a nickle. I don't have my manual in front of me, but that is my recollection.
Also when my Dyna is in gear and I pull the clutch in and hit the starter, I feel a very slight lugging forward. I know my clutch is adjusted. It is so minor it doesn't bother me. Plus I try to start in neutral.
Plus 1 on get a manual.
