Default BIke died any ideas ? updated .Got news . BAD NEWS!

Well i got news from the dealer today .

says the Fuel pak fried my ECM .....

so the warrenty wont cover it .

so with a new ECM 353.00
New Down loaed 150.00
labor ...............100.00
tax ...................?
it will be around 660.00 Dollars .

i have herd rumors that the fuel paks have been doing this .

do you think i would have any luck contacting vance and hines?

I knew this could be an issue when i installed it my self . just never think its gonna happen to you. ya know .

should get my bike back by saturday. thats the good news supposed to be a real nice weekend .

ride safe fellas

Slinger

on my way home sunday the bike just died .

2007 Street bob
VH short shots
VH fuel pak
AN big sucker

it was the last strech of a 500 mile weekend . 40 miles from home .

runing 75 MPH and just cuts out . pull in clutch coast to side of road . shut her down then fired right back up .

NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON

take off again and get to 70 and cuts out again . same thing pull over but now the bike wont start just sits there and cranks .

Battery has full 12 volts
plugs getting spark
all fuses good
battery connection good
has fuel
and yes the kill switch is in the run POS

thing is i try to get a code reading from it but it just sits in the D1a9 , diagnostic check mode .

wont give me any codes .

so i get it home and pull the fuel pak off .( thought maybe that went bad )

hooked the stock ECM config back up still just sits there and cranks .

and still can get no codes from it .

I am at a lose right now .

any ideas that i haent thought of before i take it in .

i leave out saturday for rolling thunder so if i can get it going my self i would much perfer that as to takeing it to the dealer as only god knows when i will get it back from them .

thanks for any info

Can you hear the fuel pump kick on when you switch it to "RUN"? I wonder if your pump went south...

Just ask someone to push the starter button, while you are on your knees smelling the pipes…
Good Luck

Another member recently had a similar problem and it was a crimped vacuum line not allowing fuel flow.

Just another thing to check if you aren't actually getting fuel to the injectors.

I wouldn't leave the FP off unless you are going to take the big sucker and the pipes off as well. If they see you are running that with no fuel management, that's likely to raise issues more so than with it. When I had a dealer install my pipes, the first thing they asked me was if I had a FP. And if I hadn't had one, they would have recommended I get one with the pipes.

Given everything you've said, it sounds to me like it isn't getting fuel to the motor for some reason. Could be a blockage or something else, I don't know.

ok i thats what i thought . i was just worried that if it is a proplem with the ECM they would try ot blame the Fuel pak and not keep it under warrenty .
