in the meantime, if you have to pay that much just replace the whole dammit with a t-max with autotune

Does the T max replace the ECM ?
Yep, replaces the ECM and O2 sensors.

amnon_romano;
Boy, I can sure see a "Wile E.Coyote" moment developing.... An ill-timed backfire or detonation of a fuel-soaked exhaust while you've got your snoot up the tailpipe...yowza!! I can just picture Wile E. with a soot-blackened face and singed hair.

I would call V&H and raise hell!
I'd definitely try that, at least. They can always play the Moco's word against their's though. And who knows, really, it could be. Having the fuelpak installed with a fried ecm makes it easy for the dealer to say the fuelpak did it. Just the chance we have to take I guess. I'd also try to make them prove to me the fuelpak was the problem before I'd just plunk down the money to replace the ecm.

Bummer. I'd sure take this up with V&H. Possible partial refund maybe? Worth a shot.

Maybe my experience will help others reading this make a decision. I asked my dealer about installing a fuelpak and they absolutely refuse to do it stating the typical dealer mantra that it would void my warranty. Just by the way he said it, though, I felt there was more to the story than just "voiding my warranty". I let it go at that and after several months I've decided to order the Nightrider.com XiED enricheners which will do all I need.

Well I'll be sure to reference this thread for those considering a fuel pak.

Hmmmmm, I wonder if you even needed the fuel pak in the first place.

i have herd rumors that the fuel paks have been doing this.
Hmmm...did these "rumors" originate at your local dealer by chance?

Sorry, I'm not buying that the FP fried anything. It's a passive device built of nothing more than "and" and "or" gate technology.

Unless a component on the FP circuit board shorted or opened, I don't find this possible. If a component did fry, it will be clearly visable - ask to see the FP, open it up and take a good look at it.

As 2007fxdc said, do NOT accept that the FP fried your ECM unless it can be proven.

I have a FP, and have researched fuel enrichment devices for over a year on various forums and reading material. NEVER have I heard that a FP or ANY fuel enhancement device "fried" an ECM.

If you had some wiring issues as you mention in one of your posts, that would be a more likely culprit. Should have left the FP at home when you brought it in to the dealer. Live and learn...

I also found the blue wire to the rear 02 senser had been split.
IMHO, this would be a more likely cause of your ECM woes.

BINGO!
I have to agree. IF the dealer has NOT removed the FP yet, I would hustle my azz there and REMOVE IT MYSELF!
'Funny' things happen in service bays when LIABILITY issues arise, and Serv Mgrs see an 'out'.
Not saying this is common, but I HAVE seen it.
Keep us posted Slinger, you have our attention.
