Nice bike! You won't regret it.
I don't think the smile will ever go away.
Post more pictures when you get the rest of the extras on.

If you think today was great, wait until you get the forward controls, seat and apes...I assume you're a tall guy, if you chose those particulars as early add-ons. Once those are installed, and the bike fits you more comfortably, then you'll really see how great these motorcycles are. Nice choice man. Enjoy it!

Oh man Jim, you put a second big smile on my face today.

It's the dead of winter up here. It has been cold but dry this weekend, and that makes me frown, because my bike is on the rack in my garage getting a 98" upgrade, a set of gear driven cams and a new Mikuni carb. I can't wait to finish putting her back together and starting her up all over again. Your post reminded me of the first time I rode my bike as well.

The first smile today was when my brother and his son came over this afternoon for a peak at the project. They both ride Harleys (03 Fatboy and 05 Sporty). The nephew has been away to college, and they just had to come by so he could drool and tell me all about the parts I was putting in. I was grinning the whole time while he was obviously getting into it.

Have a great time with your bike, whether it's pre-tax or not. It's worth it, and get used to having your cheeks ache for a long time to come.

You got that right Todd. 6'6". Really liked the Wide Glide too and felt nice to sit in, but I was a good boy and stuck to my budget.
