What's the deal?

It seems that in '06 there was a major change in FXD bikes. That is the impression I get over and over again as I talk to guys at parts counters and they keep shaking their head telling me that the various parts I am interested in won't fit.

Can anyone nail down what the differences are? I am yet another another Dyna newbie lookin' for knowledge.

Dont worry in a few years, youwill be able to add the 06,07 and 08's to that list. Bottom line is they are only worried about selling NEW Bikes

 

Closed loop fuel injection (oxygen sensors) on the '06, while the '05 FI was open loop (no oxygen sensors).

 

That's alright--I'll take my antique 05' FXDL with the old frame, old transmission, smaller forks, and open loop fuel injection any day!

 

It's a bit annoying to see all the things available for the up to '05 Dyna and most of it doesn't fit the '06 and they don't have anything that does.

 

It seems like they just decided not to make many accessories for the '06 Dyna....Really sucks.

 

Yeah,but you've got a great bike and they are starting to add more stuff lately.
