I have been waiting to install my new hogpro wheels, but before I do that I wanted to add the chrome pulley cover along with the wheels(save me from removing the rear twice). I assumed the dealers in my area would stock that part but my assumption was way wrong. Knowonw stocks that!! I had the local dealer order the part. I have been waiting for more than week and they still don't have it in. Also they cannot tell me when it will be in. I have to call daily to find out. WTF.... why doesn't harley provide dealers with some sort of tracking information so they know where the #### the parts are and ETA!!?!?!?!

 

Maybe it's back ordered through HD? I just wait on my parts from the dealer. Usually take about 2 weeks to get here. They call me when the parts come in.

 

The dealer looked the part up and it showed that it was available. I am assuming they can tell before ordering that the part is back ordered.

 

When I order parts from the dealer it usually takes 7-10 days, and they tell me that up front, then they call me when it's in.

When I need a part asap, they will order it overnight delivery but the shipping cost is high.

I think they may just let the orders pile up and make a large order once or twice a week - saves them on shipping.

 

One word.. Zanotti I order pretty much all my high dollar items from them.

 

Not clear why you're mad at the dealer... it's not thier fault you made assumptions about what they stock. Fortunately, most parts guys are pretty tollerant of angsty bike owners. Chillax.

 

They seem to be running a little slow on orders this year??? I had to wait for something to. I ordered a console personal console collection several weeks ago and it's STILL not in yet. Granted it's not in the latest catalog (you can still oder stuff from older catalogs). When you waiting for something like that every day seems like a week.

 

may have been avail when he looked it up but by the time order was placed stock was depleted. took me 4 weeks to get a luggage rack that showed avail then went on Back order

 

Is it the pulley cover you are waiting for? I assume so from reading your post. Most dealers I go into DO stock that part. Doesn't mean your dealer does but it isn't true to say nobody does. When I got mine, I walked right in and bought it off the shelf.

 

They have some on the wall at my dealer ( Las Vegas H D ).
I ordered a seat last mon. and got it this mon., parts guy asked why didn't I pick it up when I was there sat? ( didn't know it was there already. ) They told me 7 to 10 days also, but it took 5.
