I think, and I am no expert, that the SERT can and does tune so many parameters, the XIED's may not achieve their full potential when used with it.

I know Nightrider's site saysSERT iscompatible with the IED's, but SERT does sooo much. It very well may be that your A/F range in the SERT is out of the tolerance achievable by the IED's.

I run my XIED's with the Fuelpak - just installed this morning - surging is completely gone!

FlyNavy,
I am running a FuelPak and have a set of XIEDs on the way. Did you try running the XIEDs without the FuelPak? I am going to just install the XIEDs with FuelPak, but was wondering if I could jettison that FuelPak and have the same (or better) results.

OK..stupid question....what are IEDs and XIEDs? To be honest with you, I've never opened one of the threads with IED in the title, mainly because of what they mean over here and what they're capable of. I know it's stupid, but true.

Go to www.nightrider.comthey have tons of info. it tricks signal from 02 sensors to have bike run a little bit richer, and lowering engine temp around 20 degrees.

I don't get surging but the idle is inconsistent. Most of the time it idels at 1000 RPMs. But sometimes itwants to idle at 1200 RPMs. Even when comletely warmed up. Otherwise the bike runs a lot better.

Just installed the XiED's from having the IED's before and everything just feels and sounds smoother. Ran it for a few hours today and bike seemed much cooler as well. So far, I love them.
