RE: anyone chopped a rear fender lately
This forum is littered with pics of my chop job but I know how fun the search feature is...

yeah, that is bitchin! if i didn't ride the woman, i would totally do that!!
and i have seen plenty of your stuff in the search. i was wondering if anyone had done anything else. maybe a little shorter.
i'm actually really curious about a custom fender.

RE: anyone chopped a rear fender lately
I don't think you can go much shorter than I did and keep your passenger capabilities.I left about an inch past the struts, I suppose you could cut right to the ends of the struts. They make a number of custom strutless fenders that are shorter but most require removing the fender struts.Once that's done I'm not sure the fender would support a passenger.Lately I've been thinking of chopping off my struts and mounting my fender as is to the swing arm.I'd roll it forward till the front could be bolted to the swing arm and then run a couple of supports off the lower shock mounts to the fender.Where I get hung up is what to do about the seat I like my bare bones and don't want a spring seat mounted way above the frame.Oh well maybe some day.
