Actually, you need more than just 33711-02. You also need the following:

14 SHAFT, pivot 33689-02
3 Screw, 3/8-16 X 1 Torx 4059
7 Washer, 3/8 X 13/16 X 1/16 6701

Default additional pics and measurements

Michael, As additional information I took some more pictures and a diagram of my set-up and added the actual measurements to determine the location of the pivot. I took them from above and from the front. You should be aware of the fact that the original shifter plate mounts to the crank case and not to the frame, as you have planned. This means that there is a risk that engine movement could cause change of gear! To make a mock up I use cardboard which works faster then plywood. René

I don't think it's much a risk. The shifter on Dyna forward controls is part of the forward foot peg bracket, which is mounted to the frame at the same place where the front footboard bracket mounts.

Information is much appreciated. The engine movement in comaparison to the shifter travel is minimal. I dont think it will be an issue - but this is why we build things and test them. If they work - AWESOME - if not we go back to the design room and figure out what went wrong. This is fun stuff compared to having a military jet engine blow up on the test stand. It has been awhile since that happend to me but it has in the past - 10 million dollar engine in the toilet.

what set up would forward controls have to hold the shifter...is that something we can adapt to make the floorboards work better with our 06 + units.....that shifter coming off the mid looks short and would take away from moving your foot around on the floorboard...

There is no way to use the existing forward shifter with these floorboards, and the forward shifter bracket that is made to go with these floorboards will only work on pre 06 Dyna bikes. There is simply no place to bolt it on the newer frame and engine. The only way to make it work is to fabricate additional brackets so that it can be bolted elsewhere, which is what the OP in this thread did.

The other alternative is to fabricate an entirely new bracket for the forward shifter, which is what Pockets2000 is planning to do and has posted about above.

Ya Gary...I do not have mine home yet so have not seen what it all entails, and I have read all that above....was just wondering about the forwards set up..so that is a no go....not sure of the set up on the first post of this thread....would like to see it when it is powdercoated...Looked at my buddy's 06 ultra last night and right on primary their is a built on piece for the floorboard shifter (wish we had that!) What are your plans...you just going to stay with the way you have it...looks like it restricts some foot movement...thanks!

It does restrict movement some, but no more than the heel shifter does on a Softail or Bagger.

My plans right now are to ride it this way for awhile. The little I've been able to ride it, it seems to be an okay set up once I got the thinner shift peg problem solved. This is easily as comfortable from a shifting standpoint as the std mid pegs. Remember, you've got almost zero room to move your feet around on those.
