RE: fuel injector changes on 06s
Thanks.
Hmm...that really bugs me. I'm experiencing no problems whatsoever but just the fact that I can have better injectors and a different download is enough to upset me. Especially since that bulletin states that the new injectors will be "installed on ALL production Big Twins beginning on or around February 13, 2006". Which effectively means that all of us with 06 models made before that date will have inferior injectors and calibrations to all of the other 06 bikes.
I wonder if I can talk my dealership into making this happen for me...

I just talked to my dealer and they had no friggin idea about this. I gave them the info and they are looking into it for me. Because I'm getting pipes and aircleaner on my new bike I need the download. So, I'm trying to get the download for free due to the fact they have to recalibrate it when they change the injectors anyway. Hell, they should hook me up just for giving them info!!

I just checked mine and I have the 8 degree ones in there. Since there is a TSB that calls for replacement I am going to wait until my dealer has replaced a few and has the new map all figured out before I go in and ask for mine to be done. If I get any backfiring at all I'll be back in there. I'm not even at my 1000 mile service yet so I'll just wait for that. So far my bike runs fine and starts fine dead cold at 45 degree temps. In fact I started it up at 26 degrees and it fired on the first touch of the start button. The way I look at it I have 2 years or until I do my mods. From what I have read the new 25 degree FI are a real good idea to get done if you are going to Stage 1 your bike.
I don't know about you guys but my dealer is really good about handling anything like this. I have had my bike just over a month and they have called me twice for follow up and sent 2 letters from the service manager to make sure I was happy with the new bike. If you are not getting that type of treatment go have a talk with the management. If that doesn't work find another dealer to get your bike serviced. I would
