Default Street Bob Speedo fogging

The Street Bob"sealed" speedo is really pissing me off. I have already had it replaced under warranty due to fogging and looking like crap afterward. I baby the bike and otherwise like the bike a lot. I have never wahed it with water, or leave it out in the elements (garage only). I was caught in the rain for a split second and wiped it off right away in the garage. No pressure washers, ever. What gives? If I do get caught in the rain on a long ride, I'd hate to think that the undue condensation is part of the Harley character. Am I the only one that is truly irked about this quality oversight? The use a butt load of R&D money for the sound of our bikes, how about a couple dollars for a speedo that is truly sealed and doesn't fog up so easily! Is this a problem with other bikes as well? I expected more from Harley...I only have 3.5K miles on a 2007 model.

Mine fogs also. I used to let it bother me but not for long. It's not moisture or condensation, it's just a film on the inside of the glass that comes and goes. I've been told my more than one dealership that they all do it and I believe it. They even offered to replace it but assured me it would not cure it. Ride and enjoy!

If the condensation dissappeared completely, I would have no beef. When it dries and it looks stained, I get irked. If they all do it, what is to keep them from designing it better? Still it is a nice bike. We will see how the speedo fogs in the future...Thanks to all for the responses.

I have an 07 SB that had a fogged speedo until I had it replaced under warranty. I had to give a mileage estimate and the dealership replaced it no charge. The replacement one fogs up as well, but not as bad. I just try not to look at the speedo when driving.

My speedometer is one of those foggy club members.

Like my SB solo seat falling apart, I just have to “oh well” it.

Never had a problem with my speedo fogging - even after cleaning it. Did have a problem with the idiot light panel underneath the speedo going opaque - looked as if it was fogged up with condensation or had a layer of film over it. Dealer replaced it and its been fine ever since.

Never had a problem with my speedo fogging either. Now the gas gauge is another story..........it fogs up all the time.
