My Creative Zen mp3 player and some Ear Candy Ink'd Smokin Buds ear phones. These ear buds are incredible, they are the only ones I have ever found that let me turn my mp3 player to half volume and still hear them at 70mph and above on the highway with no windshield and short shots blasting away.
Don't be scared away by the cheap price they really sound great too.

I once played my guitar while sitting on my bike. It was awkward to play and stupid to look at. Yet another smart azz answer. Iprefer to savor the natural elements while I ride.

I'm a music lover, but I have not found a setup that suits me while riding. Regular earbuds don't do it for me...the sound quality over the wind noise is just not worth it(I even tried some "noise cancelling" earbuds and a full helmet to no avail).I actually have mostly stopped listening to the I-pod anytimewith earbudsand have gone to headphones/speaker system most of the time since I think I've done some damage to my ears cranking it too much with earbuds. I'm thinking about trying those custom made earplugs for riding, but they are high as a kite. I don't like listening unless the sound is decent, so I'll probably just keep on riding without tunes since Ihaven't really missed the music anyway.
Try those Ear Candy Inkd Smokin Ear Buds I mentioned earlier. You can definately hear them well over the windnoise and like I said also you don't have to have the player at full blast. The price is right too so if for some reason you don't like them it won't cost you a lot. I think you would be pleasantly surprised how well they work.

I have an ipod shuffle I use....works okay for me. I wish it was a bit louder though because it's hard to hear over the wind noise most of the time. Maybe I should try some other headphones.

These are the ones that I use. Though more expensive than I like, they really do a goodjob of eliminating outside noises.
I used them for a long time before I got the bike for everything from mowing the lawn to shooting.
They actually work better than many sets of shooting headphones that I have. And the insulators are made of the same stuff as the squishy plugs.

The have an inlinevolume control and do a very good job of eliminating wind noise which allows me to hear the cages better.

Last set I bought lasted for overa year of hard use.

Just my Vance & Hines; except on long distance rides I just use ear buds and my ipod shuffle.
