Default AIR SHOCK QUESTIONS

Ok, got a set of air shocks, they leaked out the oil from shipping, so anyone know how much oil to put in, type, weight ect. Also, air pressure to put in or range of air pressure?
Thanks for any help.

12oz of 5wt is stock. Air pressure is your preference.

I don't know what max is but these shocks were built for a heavier bike. They just so happen to seem damped and sprung just right for a Dyna. I'm only running 3# of air, and I'm at 185.

I just picked up a cheap used set off of Ebay. Should I change the oil right away? Any way to check if they need oil?

SoI got the shocks home and was wondering how to get the oil out quickly. Then an idea, install a set of air nipples and remove the inner stems, fill them up to 10lbs of air, turn them upside down and then let the air do the job. It work great.
Getting new oil back in, well now that is another story. If you do not have a press, I have heard of others mount the shocks on the bike then using a jack under the bike to compress and decompress the shocks on the bike so that the shocks will take in the oil. Well I used our press, took about 10 min. per shock. Anyways, got them on, went out for a ride, had to put in about 30lbs or so to feel right. Note: I am about 290lbs, so light I am not.
I must say that this is one of the best ideas I have used from others to date. Bought the shocks off ebay for 60.00. In fact two other buddies did the same thing, same time and we all put them on the same time, one was on a 2007 V-Rod and he is just amazed.
If you are thinking of this move, do it!
