New Derby Cover

RE: New Derby Cover
An engraver named Tira Mitchell in PA did it. I sent her a clipart of the crest and she sent me a photo of the derby before it went to the chromer. She has a website, does a lot of bikes and guns. Who doesn't like bikes and guns?

RE: New Derby Cover
Prlswabbie,
That's not the one. I have seen those, but I don't think they are hand-done. They do have a good price on them, though. This was a monochrome job that she did by hand, then sent out to a chromer. I didn't want quite as bold of a relief and color contrast as that production one. Those guys at AZECE have some other cool parts if you wanted to go with a 'collection' type setup, though, and their prices seem reasonable. I like their Maltese stuff. I was just looking for a single "one of a kind" piece for my bike and knew she had a great reputation as an artist. If you wanted a picture of your kid's face on the side of your derby she could probably do it from a good photo.
Don't get me wrong, I am not snobbing or knocking their stuff, I will probably order from them this summer, but if you look for example at the detail on the quils of the arrows, you will see the difference I am talking about. The darker pic is one she sent me after the engraving, before she sent it to the chromer.
