Default Shockproof - BULL

2007 Lowrider 3,500mi.

Took the advice of some members and replaced the transmission oil with Redline Shockproof. Drove 15-20 miles. (stuff looks like Pepto Bismol) I hear/feel absolutely no difference over the stock HD Forumula. A while back I replaced the HD dino oil with Mobil 1 VTwin. Again, I could not hear, feel, or notice any heat difference.

My conclusion, use whatever is conveniently available. No need to spend extra bucks on designer oils. Would probably run the same on peanut oil or Crisco. Dont believe the marketing nonsense.

That ought to cause a stir.

B

I just replaced the tranny oil in my Roadglide from syn3 to Mobile 1 VTwin 75-90 not expecting a big difference. I was shocked at how much it quieted the old clunking tranny on my bike. I'm not affiliated with Mibile and I've put off trying it until now after reading about it for over 3 years here.

Thanks for the heads up though, I wont expect a miracle.

Cheers... Ben.

I agree with Dynamite. I believe most miracles that happen when somebody switches oil brands are more placebo effect than anything.

i use mobil 1 in the crankcase and my engine is noisier. i dont use it to quiet noise, i use it because it handles the high temp of an air cooled engine better then dino oil.
there is no magic potion. just cause you cant tell the diff. doesnt mean that its not better in the long run for your machine

I put Redline on the antenna of my Van. It still rusted.

Van-aerial disease I guess.
