We have one station here that no longer sells the top grade. And just before he stopped selling the high test I was getting that fuel so I guess I got all the junk ,but the worst gas I got was at the WAWA market,
If you do put in the fresh low grade and add a octane booster, what would happen to the motor and so on. On Friday my bike cut out crossing a five track RxR crossing, I was moving and got a cross. OK BUT

If that FXDP has a carb, pull the bowl off and see how crap or water is in there. If it ran good before the last tankful I would suspect the fuel quality.

Alot of high compression engines require high test so I really don't think that is the case (and there's money out there...no matter what anyone says but that's another argument entirely...). Change gas first. There's alot of misinformation out there. When I got my first HD the dealership told me not to use Exxon gas because it had red dye in it. I asked at another dealership if this was true and the guy laughed so hard I thought he was gonna pee himself. Go figure. If a couple of tanks (2) of gas don't solve the problem have the dealership check the mapping. I had a 95 in kit but on my FLHRCI and they used the wrong download (it was missing but only at the start of the ride)...once they got the right mapping it purrrrs now!

I have been thinking the same thing because I had electrical work done a couple of Four weeks a go and and I pro badly have old timers and keep forgetting to check it, but the bike does run better with new gas and gas treatment from STP. But I will check it too.
FXDF thanks for the reminder.

Yes sir!!!!! IF it is a carb model, I'd bet this is the culprit. Water droplets willcause the exact symptoms that you describe. Ask me how I know this??? I havent always ridden a twin cam state of the art HD. I'm an old school guy that started off with an AMF junker iron head sporty the I graduated up to an older shovelhead. I used to run shitty gas all the time cause thats all I could afford. I became ver profficient atdropping the bowl and dumping it in record time...

I'd say no the the battery thing. If it's electrical, it's maybeyour stator starting to break down(and you're ****ed if it is).....Keep us informed.
