I powdercoated mine in high gloss black then cleared them (for an extra shine), I laced it with twisted stainless spokes, and added a wheel stripe... i love em!!!

Here are a couple of shots of wheels that I made and designed. The orange/black deluxe is my wifes bike. Made a tribal 5 spoke to go with her theme of the paint/bike.
Completed bike:
My Deluxe, I opted to make a "contrast cut" wheel for my bike. Blacked out bike with black powdered parts. Made wheels, 7 spoke design.
Rear wheel and rear pulley:

Wheels are forged billet aluminum, made matching rotors and pulley.
