I've been looking at the HD detachable stuff (I want to be able to take it off, if I'm just cruising alone), along with there low sissy bar. Anyone have any suggestions?
Can't remember now if Iwent withthe low or medium-low detachable sissy bar but my wife (5'7) loves it! It's not too big & not too small. fits the bike just right IMO. I'm also definately getting a luggage rack for the sissy bar too...just can't bring myself to get bags! I'll see if I can get a pic up on here soon for ya...

Why the hell doesn't the HD website list this!? They list all the other additional hardware I'm going to need! Sometimes I HATE dealing with them! Sorry, just needed to vent a bit. Buuuut, that sure as hell would have pissed me right the f*ck off, if I got all the crap to do it, and couldn't because of this. Most likely, I'd go down to the dealer and be told that I'd have to wait two weeks for it to come in!

Thanks A LOT for the heads up. GREATLY appreciated...

What Blade said. I went will all HD equipment. With everything off you can't tell anything is different.

XKROME, I just registered with Patriot Guard Riders. Interest in your flag holder. Have you posted anything on how you made it?

Ride Safe.

Anytime I see someone ask about a detachable setup, I feel it's a good idea to mention this thread:

https://www.hdforums.com/m_1320167/tm.htm

A lot of people around here are using permanent sideplates and notching out the bolt holes so they become detachable. You don't have to mess with rear turn signals, detachable docking hardware kits, and the infamous detachable rattle.

Just a thought. I went this route and I'm glad I did. I like the cleaner look of the sideplates inside the fender support covers (the detachables mount on the outside of the fender supports). Just a personal preferance for me.

The biggest bonus for me: I didn't have to remove the turn signal bolts to install the plates. Anyone who's done this knows it can be a pain.

The bolt feeds from inside the fender and is pretty long. The bolt head hits the rear tire before it clears the fender support. Oops. Most people drop the shocks to allow the fender to rise up, thus allowing the the bolt to clear the rear tire.

Notching the sideplate bolt holes means all you have to do is loosen the fender support bolts to install/remove the sideplates. Quick and easy.

Cheers,
J

I have been looking in to this same set up as well, The problem is when i put the above number into chicago HD's website I get three options
53968-06
53968-06A
53968-06B, Geez they make this easy dont they?

When I put the above number in to Zanotti's website I get the following
53968-06, No part found
53968-06A I get a part result, Turn signal relocation kit
53968-06B I get a part result, Turn signal relocation kit

So, Which one is it?
I reckon if they set out to confuse people they have succeeded
