Default Best way to get rid of the exhaust explosions...

A friend of mine has installed a set of open cans, Stg 1 Filter and PC III. Bike goes well according to him, and pulls harder than originally, but when shutting the throttle he is getting a lot of exposions or "farting" from his bike. What is the best solution you have, to cure that bad digestion from his bike and how should he adjust the PC III-usb in order to avoid as much as possible this unpleasant effect?

Add more fuel at the 0% throttle positions.
To do this - it seems that putting "20" in all 0% throttle fields - from 1000 rpm and up works well for me. The actual numbers need to be tuned in for best results, but some logical guessing is better than nothing.
It might not totally go away - but it should help

He's going to need to richen up his decel enleanment tables & VE tables at 0% throttle for the RPM range of his popping. Don't know how that's done with a PC3 though. Sorry.

Are his pipes turning blue (lean) or gold (rich)?

No, his pipes are fine; some blueing is normal and i have it on both mi bikes (not on the chromed shield, but on the real pipe)

And about increasing the fuel on the 0% accelerator, when I had my PC III (now I have TMAx), as I increased the fuel figures to the 0% range, I lost most or all the engine retaining power wich in many cases is better than only using the brakes. It is really great when riding, not to need to use the brakes in many ocasions since the engine as you decelerate acts like a brake, and a smooth one for that matter. I had to go back to the original configuration and the exhaust popping started again but milder since I kept some juice in the 0%. Does anyone have maps that have sorted out the problem without ending with the engine "brake"?
I hereby include my last map that worked great on my bike....sorry, not allowed to upload such files.

You stated that he put on "open cans". Does this mean no baffles? So he is apparantly running drag pipes?

As far as I know he has installed a cheap version of my Rineharts which do have some dampening camera full of fiberglass, but the hole is just like the one on this picture.... That is, fully open right through.

Those are pretty standard baffles. Look very similar to Vance & Hines.

I would follow the PCIII guidelines listed above. I was just curious if he was running straight pipes, since that can put a wrench in the tuning.

As I said, he bought some weird Italian pipes (just mufflers) http://www.lineamcj.it/sil_roy2in2.htmland my guess is that they are the same or similar to my Rineharts, so fully open 1 1/4 inch or so plus a tip at the end (030). His bike is an FXDC07 and he otherwise has the air filter change to a K&N, but not the Stg 1.

Any maps or help will be great.

I have both my bikes with TMax & autotune..never looked back
