new rear rotor and pulley cover....
2007 Street Bob
Hey all, I just got my new rear chrome floating rotor, chrome sprocket cover, and 180 SE tire from Zanottis
I have a couple of questions, though:
I've already removed the rear wheel and the stock rotor and pulley from the rim....should I install the new rotor, pulley and chrome cover on the rim with the stock 160 on it before I bring it to the dealer to remove the 160 to mount the 180 on the rim?
or do I just leave the rim bare (160 on it), and bring along the new rotor, pulley and chrome cover for them to install to balance things after they remove the stock 160 and mount the 180?
also, anyone have a chrome rear floating rotor from harley (classic chrome, thunderstar, etc.) on their dyna? ...i'm curious, because the back of mine has fine scratches all over the chrome surface...like someone took a brillo to it....facing surface is fine....but inside facing the rim has the scratches....anyone else's like this?

RE: new rear rotor and pulley cover....
Install everything before taking it to get the new tire mounted. That way when they mount and balance the tire it will be ready to go. Everything will need to be on the wheel for them to mount it.
Don't no about the floating rotor but my new polished rotors didn't have any scratches on either side!

RE: new rear rotor and pulley cover....
Thanks for the info, donny....much appreciated.....i thought if i installed everything on the wheel (rotor, sprocket and cover) that they'd have to remove it all to take the 160 off.
and yeah, i don't get why the rotor is like that....i mean, it came completely sealed in a package, you know.... it looks like it happened at the factory before it was put together with the contact surface part of the rotor...it couldn't have happened if the rotor had been completely assembled and was even laying on something because of the raised rivets
i don't get it.... a stealer about 20 miles away has one....i think i might just return this one and take a ride and look at another one to see what's up
