Hi

I have an 06 Wide Glide and would like to purchase another seat a little more comfortable than the standard seat I have now with pillion, my wife complains it's not very comfortable. I was checking out part number 51472-06 Touring Seat.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

TONYVA, I ride an 2006 fxdwgi and invested in a "sundowner" seat in the middle of a weekend ride with my wife. She was complaining about the width of the stock seat as well as the lack of cushion, and to be real honest the stock seat was killing me also! The sundowner is super comfy, of course it is pricey and it will definantly "raise" up up off the ground more. But on long rides I like hav'in it on and i'm not putting my feet on the ground that much anyway.

 

I have a Mustang seat (see sig pic), no complaints from me or the wife after a 300 mile ride.

 

Tony, I have an 04 wideglide and went through this last year when the backseat driver started to get cranky after 100 miles or so.. Just before a labor day weekend ride that was going to be about 800miles total I caved and bought the same seat for the 04.. What a difference it made for the wife. She says it is night and day, the son likes it too.
The driver seat is a tad bigger as well and I gotta say I kind of like the little more cush under my 40+year old ***..

My suggestion is - BUY IT!!.. Happy and comfortable wife means happy me and much much more then the $250 I spent on the seat.

Passengers love the Sundowner and it has a nice bucket feel for the driver.

I just baught the sundowner also.my wife loves it,but i didn't care for it much.pushed me way to far up on the tank.i'm very close to 6'5 so i called my bud at the dealer and they are gonna trade out the sundowner fot the tall boy.the wiefey should stay happy and hopefully me too.

 

I am about 5'11 so I hope I have no problem with that
