Default question about NOVELLO handlebar wiring harness extensions??

Hello DYNA Bros... I'm getting ready to swap-out my stock 10-1/2" mini apes on my 2006 fxdwgi for a set of 18" 1-1/4" ness w/ built-in risers, I have figured out the cable lengths for throttle/idle/clutch & brake (i think that i have anyway???). What I would like some advice on is the handlebar wiring extensions... The NOVELLO brand look to be the best and simpilist to install. By my calculations I should only need the 8" kit but I believe that I have read a few post on here about guys using the 12" and even the 15" on an 16" ape install. I understand that you really do not want your wires and cables too tight but on the other hand a bike with a whole lot of extra wire and cables bowing out all over the place on the front of a bike looks really sloppy...(IMO)

You may squeak by with an 8" kit but I'd go with a 12" kit to be safe. I used a 12" kit and had extra but it tucks neatly into your frame; there's no reason you'd have extra bowing out anywhere. That said, I hope you're going with bars that allow for internal wiring.

Thanks for the quik replys guys, I need to get this stuff ordered and y'all are big help steering this rookie-wrench in the right direction....

PowerCobra98 they are drilled for internal wires, again thanks for getting me to check and double check. I hope this swap goes off fairly smooth so as my down time for ridin is short....

Default Just finished

I just finished my wife's bike 16 inch apes with 6 inch risers and used the 8" Novell extensions and worked great.

Where can you find these wire extensions? Does Novell have a site?

I have 16s on my bike and did not have to extend the harness. you'd be fine with the 8" kit...anything extra would just be icing, so to speak.
