Default Dynas vs Sporster in the city

Hi, I need to decide between a dyna or a sporster, here's the score so far, I need help deciding.

im riding where there are many cars and lights, here agility and acceleration matter. sporster 1, dyna 0

i need to be able to plant my feet on the ground often and easily. both have low style bikes if necessary. score stays the same. sporster 1, dyna 0

Gas... sorster 2, dyna 0

2 up riding, I hear that the dyna is superior when it comes to 2 up riding which I will be doing. sporster 2, dyna 1

the sporster wins with these factors, which I consider to be the most important for how I use my bike. Not sure how much they are true thou... needs validating. Thanks

Dyna LowRider has a lower seat height. Dyna 1 Sporty 0
2 up riding is better on a dyna, Dyna 2 Sporty 0
Don't know what you meant by gas?
Gas guage on Dyna. Dyna 3 Sporty 0
Better resale value. Dyna 3 Sporty 0

Do a demo ride then decide.
My first ride was a Sporty 1200. 2 up riding was not that great.
Dyna has the power.
Just my 2 cents.

I've had both, and i live in the city (Oslo, Norway). As for agility and easy manouverability I'd say both bikes are about the same. What I appreciate with my Low Rider is more low end grunt when you're creeping with the traffic. A lower centre of gravity on the Dyna may be of some help for stop and go traffic- I don't know really. As for two up on these bikes - none of them are great out of the box. With better seat my experience as that they both work fine two up. For longer trips I'd prefer the Dyna because of more torque - not neccesarily comfort.

Bottom line (or my 2 cents) is that the Dyna is more powerful. The best sounding bike is the Sportster - I love the sound of the XL engine.

I feel that the Sporty is actually more top heavy than a dyna also. I say go Dyna for sure. You WONT be disappointed

I have had both and for highway riding and two up Dyna hands down. One more thing is that in alot of city riding the roads have more pot holes and railroad tracks to test the suspension. Dyna hands down.

I had a XL and now a Dyna. I ride mine to work alot in the city and here is what I see the differences are.

Handling: Dyna bigger, but seems to handle better. I never scraped my pegs on the XL, but I have on the Dyna. The suspension on the Dyna is better stock, than the Progressive suspension I put on the XL.

Gas Mileage: I only average about 5 MPG less with the Dyna, plus on my FXDC I have a bigger tank and the gas gauge.

Performance: In stop and go traffic, the Dyna wins hands down due to gearing. I don't need to switch gears as near as much as I did on the XL.

Plus for two-up it's got to be the Dyna.

Don't get me wrong I think the XL is a great bike at a good price, but for my needs the Dyna does the job better.

My last bike was a 100hp 883/1200 '01 Sportster; the dyno sheet is on HQ's site.
My current bike is a 103" '01 Dyna T-Sport.
Around town the Sporty was a knife; the Dyna is a hatchet...
I got the Dyna because my wife wanted to ride passenger; we've now enjoyed a handful of tours and have more planned. Solo, it's as close to my Sportster as I can get without having both bikes. I miss the Sportster...and 99 percent of my riding is highway.

Get the Dyna. I enjoyed riding my sporty, but as far as comfort, even riding around town, I'll take the Street Bob hands down.

I ride rush hour gridlock in downtown L.A. every day.
The only ones that can cut traffic better are bicycles.
Dyna = 10, Sporty = Skunked.
