I just put a new exhaust on and thought I would share an easy way to take off the o2 sensors.

Nice spanner you got yourself there Boston.

I had to make my own by slightly bending and cutting a standard star fixed spanner; the cutout was meant to allow the O2 sensor cable to pass through. Good thing about it was the strength and multiside surface it offered to undo and retighten the sensors. I used a 22 mm spanner. See pics included.

they make o'2 sensor sockets or crowsfoot line wrenchs instead of cutting a good wrench.

 

Agreed Korn851, but bet they cost as much or more than a standard spanner, and what is more,this one I modifiedcan still be used for other jobs, just looks a bit odd.

As it happens, I found myself with no "special tool" so I did a bit of McGyver.....[:'(]

Did you have to use any lubricant before you took the sensor off??

 

I got a set of craftsman crows foot at the used. Im mass we have a store called the tool shed you can buy used tools, you can find some odd stuff $1.00 this one was worth it.
