Default Haulen *** Backrest

A quick plug for the Haulen *** backrest I just fitted to my Dyna.

A well made bit of kit that fitted easily andgives the passenger more confidence, knowing they're not going to slide off the back when you open the taps!,my daughter loves it,and in my opinion it looks great too.

Also a great company to deal with, sending it over toScotland was not a problem, you'd be surprised how many companies don't even reply when asked to send things to the UK.

All in alll a great US made product.

I like this. Been tryin to find an alternative to relocating my turn signals. This just might work. Looks like a pretty easy install too. Does it seem sturdy to you?

As long as I have some Haulen *** people looking (and I had a reply from the Haulen *** guy, but want opinions of others), has anyone tried installing a Haulen *** with the large backrest pad onto a bike with the Sundowner seat? I really think my wife is gonna want the larger backrest pad, but not enough room for the seat thickness between the bottom of the pad and the rear fender?
Bike is a Fat Bob, I understand a Haulen *** won't work with the stock Fat Bob seat, which I can see why that wont work, because of the chrome tongue on the back of the seat, but man I'd really like that larger pad with the Sundowner, wondering how jammed the seat really would be under the large pad. I really REALLY don't want the Harley backrest!
(Sorry for fishing for other opinions, Steve)

For Blue Goose, one thing I found out at the dealer is that this is the same way Harley designed the backrest for the V Rod, I guess the V Rod you can't use side plates on? So you're just doing it the V Rod way on a Dyna.

Sorry roadkillvespa, not tryin to hijack your thread.

Gilly-
Not sure how much of the seat that would eat up. When I'm ridding 2 up, I sometimes feel a little cramped and pushed forward. I would be afraid my passenger would be right up against me. Sorry I can't offer any more specific information for you. I really do like the backrest though. As long as it doesn't make my Bob look like a V Rod . The other option I was lookin at was the plug and play, https://www.hdforums.com/m_1006941/tm.htm
but I'm leaning toward the Haulin ***, less cost in the long run, and i like the sleek look.

I have the Haulen *** Backrest and really like it. I like the look, no brackets.

Gilly

Here are some pics that show the distance between the bottom of the backrest and my seat, I have a Mustang Squareback. Not sure if a much larger backrest would work.

Hutson, is that the larger or smaller pad on your backrest?

I have the 6"x6" pad on mine. I would have more room below my pad but my seat is pretty think. Depending on how thick your seat is in the passenger part would depend if you could put a bigger pad on. I am sure the Haulen *** rep here on the sight could give you better input.
