I need your help with this one, I am going to order a new seat for my 03 fxdwg but can't make up my mind. I am either going with the sundowner p/n 51540-01a ($210.00) or the seat with adjustable rider backrest p/n 53042-01a ($380.00) Zanotti's prices. I don't do a great deal of long distance riding so I'm not sure if I should flip the Extra cash for the backrest. Basically looking for a more comfortable seat for when the wife rides.

 

For what it's worth, I'd get the seat w/o the backrest since you say you don't do much long distance riding. Sell the stock seat and buy a good solo seat with the difference + the stock sale. You don't need to keep 3 seats (don't ask how I know). Besides, a good solo seat looks great on a WG and you can personalize it a little in the process.
