Default Which smoked tail light to choose?

I have the Kuryakyn Deluxe LED Smoked Laydown light pictured below on my bike. At the time I bought it, I was planning to go LED all around. Instead I ended up going with Kury's chrome signal smoked bezels with iridium coated bulbs. I discovered the other day that my tail light somehow has gotten cracked. Have no idea how and where it happened but I'm not going to waste time worrying about it. Instead, I'll just replace. I'm thinking of maybe just going with the smoked laydown lense with the iridium coated red bulb, also pictured below, instead of getting another LED since I don't have LED's elsewhere. That's the way I'm leaning. Just thought I'd get some thoughts on how you would do it in my case. Would it matter to you that the tail light was the only LED and you'd prefer to use a bulbed light to match everything else? Or would you go LED no matter what?

I was going to go with smoked lenses but after I got them on, including the smoked laydown taillight with iridescent bulb, and I wasn't happy with the amount of light they put out. I went back to the red taillight and rear turn signals and amber front turnsignals with clear bulbs. No experience with LEDs, I didn't want to have to mess with load equalizers.
If you decide you want to stay with the smoked laydown lenses PM me. I'll be glad to let you have mine for a good price.

Ride Safe.

Personally ,I really like the LEDs. They'llburn for hours. And I've found a place that make flasher units(and a big assortment of LED) that'll work great. The flasher unit replaces the round silver one(?) and make all LEDs work correctly, not the fast flash that usually happens when replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs. Takes the place of the load equalizer try here:

The LEDs are pretty bright, especially the "Power Tower" ones:

Hope this helps, Greg.

I spent a significant amount on the Kury bulbs and bezels so I'm not looking to convert the signals the LED anytime soon. I usuallly don't ask for opinions here unless, at the very most, it's after the fact. But, just curious to see what others think about bulbs all the way around and LED tail light or make a decision and go all bulbs or all LED?

I say LEDs all the way. But that's just me.
I can understand your investment in the Kury stuff, and not wanting to 'change horses' mid stream.

I bought the Kuyaken smoked laydown lens and it did not right at all. It would not install flush against the fender and was actually pulling the trim away from the fender when the mounting screws werebeing tightened. It came off and I bit the bullet forHarley'$ smoked LED taillight.

Yup...I'd go LED no matter what! Me personally, I could care less if any of my lights are LED or not. But if I found out that my tail light was broken & had no other choice than to replace it with "something" it would definately be LED. Now do you plan on keeping the bike for awhile? If so, go LED...you'll eventually catch up to doin' everything else LED. If not, just throw the stock one back on there & call it a day! It's not like you hear all the time, "Hey man...sweet taillight bro"!

I had a problem with the Kuryakyn DeluxeSmoked LED Lay Down Taillight, it had a hairline crack right out of the package that I noticed just before I was going to take it apart to paint the inside. I sent it back and got another one and havenot had any problems with itin over ten thousand miles.
It is a real nice taillight with a little extra detail, doesn't really seem to matter that it is the only LED light onthe bike.....

I got a 25 dollar one from Drag and put a led bulb in it from Autozone. The LED is not as bright as I like but at night it does the job. Only change is top pick up a a red iridium bulb this spring and see if lites up brighter (I'm thinking it will.)
