RE: getting a used low rider...
nice bike but im actually atleast a year away from buying anything.
yea... i need to get a low rider. especially being my main form of transportation. sporster is a nice bike... but a low rider is so much more bike.
definitely gonna wait till I have the money for 1. take me about a year or so working at 2 bars and on a construction site, but hey. the anticipation is half the fun.

buzzed around on an 04 sportster for awhile and loved it. thought about upgrading to the FI 1200 since I had the 883. Went to the dyna LR and love it. much different bike. Sporty jets around pretty easily but makes highway riding a real challenge. It was a bit rougher and draining on me. Really felt as though I was managing the sporty on thehighway more than riding it. The LR doesnt have the same handling capability, butnot far from it. Much better on the highway and definitely a much smoother, easier ride.IMHO the best deal in the harley line is the custom. Its several grand less than the LR and a sweet looking ride. If you want the Dyna now, do it. Otherwise, you will be wishing you did every time you see one buzz on by. 07's with the 96" new frame, etc. That bike will aslolast you a lifetime.
Good luck

Externally the 99-05 dynas are pretty much the same, internally is a different story. The cam bearing types were changed in 02, in 03 the crank bearings were changed to a different style and the lifters were upgraded. I beleive the EFI showed up in 05.Some of the 05's had valve guide issues. One must understand as vehicles get upgraded by manufactures sometimes faults soup. Like others have suggested I would find a low mileage pre 05 or 06 so that you don't. have to spend that much needed cash. Good luck. By the way I have a 02superglide (carbed) and a 05 L/R (EFI) and love them both.
