I've always used Mobil-1 in my bikes, even some of the service guys at my dealer use it.

I have been running Mobil 1 V twin for awhile in the engine & Primary. Thinking about switching to Amsoil next time.

For the tranny...Red Line HD Shockproof is the only way to go IMO

AmsOil is probably hands-down the best, but there are so many great synthetics out there. Royal Purple, Mobil 1 (which I use), RedLine, and the list could go on. I don't know much about the quality of the H-D synthetic. AmsOil can just be a pain to get your hands on, so that is why a lot of people use Mobil 1. I buy mine, believe it or not, at WalMart. I, and many other, use it in the crankcase and in the primary.

With oil threads, there is never a clean answer : only 1001 opinions. I just run HD fluids. However,i may switch this year .

Best oil I've every used or had analyzed was made by a company called Specialty Formulations. For my bikes, I use Mobil 1 Vtwin because I can buy it from the local Autozone.

There will never be a definative answer to this question, the most thing is to use brand names and change fluids on a regular basis.
