Is a 3000 mile fluids change worth it?

RE: Is a 3000 mile fluids change worth it?
Under my service contract, the dealer has me come in every 2500 miles even though the manual says every 5000. They could have told me to come in every 5 and I wouldn't know the difference. Seems like an easy place for them to save money, if they wanted to. They must figure a little more maintenance will cut down on long term problems.

Oh, and the service guys at the dealer told me I didnt need to change the oil until 5k, unless I wanted to earlier. It seems that the time frame doesnt apply to bikes as it does to cars?? I kinda think after sitting all winter, 4-5 months, the oil should be changed, but the moco says no. Guess it's up to you.
